Dr. Downing has been working as a Veterinarian at Animal Care Center and Pet Care Center since graduation in 2011.
Dr. Jessica Downing is a lifelong resident of the Hammond area, where she grew up on a dairy farm. She graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas in 2004 and then attended Louisiana State University where she graduated Suma Cum Laude with a Bachelors in Dairy Science. She then attended LSU School of Veterinary Medicine and was awarded her doctorate with honors in May 2011.
Dr. Downing is a second-generation veterinarian as both of her parents, the late Dr. James Downing and the late Dr. Carla Kyzar-Downing, were also graduates of LSU School of Veterinary Medicine. Dr. Downing has been working as a veterinarian at Animal Care Center since graduation in 2011. She has a special love for all Boston Terriers. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and 2 sons, traveling, running, shopping, and reading. She is currently a member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Louisiana Veterinary Medical Association, and the Florida Parishes Veterinary Medical Association.
